The WaterSmart Home & Garden Rebate is designed to support residential customers to save water around the home and garden by purchasing eligible water saving products. The rebate will be offered as a pilot during summer, commencing 1 December 2025 to 28 February 2026.
Eligibility
To be eligible for a WaterSmart Home & Garden Rebate, you must:
- be a Barwon Water customer that lives in a property within Barwon Water’s service region that is charged a residential water charge (owner or tenant).
- have purchased an eligible product for the property that corresponds with your Barwon Water account number, on or after 1 December 2025 and prior to applying for the rebate (proof of purchase is required).

Rebate limits apply to the amount that can be claimed for each eligible product and per household. Please check the list of eligible products prior to making a claim.
Rebate amount
A maximum of one rebate per eligible product can be claimed per household during the life of the program.
The maximum rebate amount that can be claimed per household during the life of the program is $300 if different eligible product types are purchased.
Making a claim
To claim a WaterSmart Home & Garden Rebate, please review the Terms and Conditions to check your eligibility and complete an online application form for each rebate claim, which must be accompanied by relevant supporting documents including:
- An original receipt showing your name, property address, proof of purchase/payment (showing a $0 balance owing) and a clear description of the product you wish to claim a rebate for.
- A photo of the item purchased.
