Gifts, benefits and hospitality
The way our staff, as public officials, respond to offers of gifts, benefits and hospitality is critical to maintaining the trust of the community we serve. We act in a manner that allows our customers, community and stakeholders to feel confident that we perform public duties without favouritism or bias, or for personal gain.
Our employees, Board members and ‘in-house’ contractors and consultants are bound by our policy for gifts, benefits and hospitality. The policy sets out our standards and procedures for responding to gift offers, and for providing gifts, benefits or hospitality to internal or external events or guests.
The policy is consistent with standards set by the Victorian Public Sector Commission, and the model policy developed by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP).
