Barwon Water is proud to support our community by offering our free hydration station trailer to local, eligible events.
Our hydration station trailer is a great way ensure your attendees stay hydrated and reduce waste from single-use plastic water bottles.
EOIs are now open for events taking place between August 2026 – January 2027.

Eligibility
- Your event must take place within the Barwon Water service region.
- Your event must have an estimated attendance of at least 1000 people.
- The hydration station must be connected to our water supply system (it can’t be connected to a private line or tank).
- Preference will be given to community, not-for-profit and charity events.
- Must be housed on flat, solid ground with a sufficient drainage area.
- Barwon Water will not support events that promote activities that have an adverse impact on community health. Events that support gambling, alcohol, tobacco or vaping, for example, will not be supported.
- Barwon Water reserves the right to assess the eligibility of events on a case-by-case basis to ensure alignment with Barwon Water’s values.
Where possible, we try to serve community events with the greatest community impact that meet our eligibility criteria.
As part of the free use of a hydration station, we ask that we receive promotional opportunities for Barwon Water, which may include inclusion in social media, signage, flyers and newsletters. We require organisers to provide photos of the hydration station at the event shortly after the booking.
Please note that an application does not guarantee your booking. We will be in touch with you at least two months before your event to confirm whether your application is successful.
We have a limited budget, and dates can book out quickly. As much as we would love to, we are unable to service every requesting event.
Portable refill units
We have recently retired our portable bottle refill units, and they are no longer available to hire.
How does the hydration station trailer get to my event, and who installs it?
The hydration station trailer is delivered, installed, and dismantled by Barwon Water crew, as per the dates and times on your application form, or as otherwise discussed.
When nominating times, it’s important to consider other logistical factors of your event to ensure that there is access for delivery and installation of the trailer.
We will make sure the station is working adequately and is left in a safe and secure position before we leave.
