Storm causes sewer spills at Lorne

Barwon Water has responded to sewer spills at three Lorne locations, following Sunday night’s storm.

The wild weather wreaked havoc on the sewerage system, shutting off power and inundating the system.

Signage has been installed in the vicinity of the spills, at the following locations:

• Mountjoy Parade (between Albert and Francis Streets)
• Allenvale Road (near Green Break Track intersection)
• Great Ocean Road (near the Strong Creek beach access)

Residents and visitors are advised to avoid these areas until the signage is removed.

The spills have been resolved but signage remains in place, while we continue to monitor the environment over the coming days.

The EPA has been notified of the incident.
