Sewerage system

Barwon Water enjoys a reputation for delivering excellent sewerage services based on a comprehensive sewage, biosolids and trade waste strategy. The strategy’s priority is efficient, cost-effective and environmentally responsible sewage treatment and disposal, with an emphasis on waste minimisation and recycling.

The sewerage system is a complex network including more than 2,000 kilometres of sewerage pipelines, 140 pumping stations and nine water reclamation plants.

Approximately 60 million litres of domestic sewage, trade waste and infiltration water is handled by the system each day.
