  Environmental Consultative Committee

In June, 2000, Barwon Water established an Environmental Consultative Committee. The committee's primary role is to provide feedback and advice on environmental issues and policies relevant to the authority's activities.

The committee comprises an independant chairperson and representatives from a number of local environmental groups, selected for their ability to provide broad input on environmental issues.

The committee meets regularly and has addressed issues including:

  • Geelong Sewerage Strategy
  • biosolids management at Black Rock sewage treatment plant
  • Aireys Inlet water reclamation plant upgrade
  • Great Otway National Park
  • Torquay Sewerage Strategy
  • Montpellier Basin mini-hydro generator project
  • Bannockburn bushland reserve
