Barwon Water adopts new mapping datum (GDA94)

On March 1, 2005, Barwon Water changed its spatial systems to operate on the Map Grid of Australia, a projection of the Geocentric Datum of Australia (GDA94).

The new datum is an international one which is directly compatible with the use of GPS. Many other utilities and councils adopted the new datum during 2005.

The information bulletin below was prepared to advise surveyors and engineering design consultants on procedural changes for Barwon Water projects.

Data submitted for new projects constructed under Developer Works procedures now require the use of updated proformas, which are available from the links below.
